It's barKton Studio!

Who am I? I'm Kristina Barton. I am the founder and creative force behind barKton Studio.

What is a barKton? I put the K from Kristina into the middle of my surname. It sounds like bark (dog sound) and ton (a large amount of weight.)  The dictionary pronunciation would look like this: [bark-ton].

How? I knew I wanted to be an artist as soon as I was able to hold a crayon and I have passion for my career. I passed through the first 13 years of school, went to Missouri State University and was rewarded with a BFA in painting.  I started my career working for a few different companies but found my niche early on as a senior graphic designer in a local Portland company. 

Why? After working for over 12 years as the in-house designer for a financial consulting firm I needed a change and my company was created.  This graphic design and art studio connects me to my artistic passions. I also like working directly with clients to provide them powerful and appealing solutions to their needs. Clients include financial organizations, a law firm, a medical technology firm, an artisan cheese company and a few non-profits.  I welcome all types of clients and have been known to reduce project fees for community and non-profit organizations and start-up companies.

Where is the art Studio? The short answer is in my home, I finished a new artist space in December of 2015. I wanted to include the studio work because my best design and illustrative work is inspired by my work in the studio. In early 2016, I will be posting images of my paintings, sculpture, photography and prints!
